How do I apply something?
The basic rule is: you should apply thin products before thick products and oil-based products after water-based products. This means that you should apply a toner first and a cream last, for example.
A typical sequence
At first glance, it looks like a lot of effort, but you don't have to follow all the steps in this routine. A good basic routine will be enough for you.
A good basic routine
The routine that most people use. Of course, there is always room for improvement, but with this procedure you are already on the safe side.
The aim of layering is to combine the individual active ingredients or products in such a way that they can penetrate the skin quickly and easily and thus develop their maximum benefit.
Maybe you've had problems before when you've applied your products and now want to apply your make-up, parts or the entire layer suddenly rolls off in small pieces. There are several reasons for this, which we'd like to explain to you here.
Allow yourself enough time between the different products in your layering routine until each product has been absorbed. Then you can calmly move on to your next step. We generally recommend 30 seconds to 1 minute.
The way you apply your products can also play a role. For example, if you rub your skincare products in too vigorously or massage them in too quickly, this can cause your makeup to come off.
If the products you use don't work well together, they may not bond properly to the skin and start to peel. For example, an oil-based moisturizer may not work well with a water-based foundation.
Using too many products at once or applying too much of a particular product can also have a negative impact. It's important to use the right amount of product to ensure each layer is well blended into the skin before applying the next one.
If you don't allow enough time between applying your skincare products and makeup, your skin may not be able to fully absorb all of the products. If moisturizers or serums haven't fully absorbed into your skin, it can affect your makeup and cause the side effect.
If your skin is very dry or flaky, makeup can roll off more easily. It's important to moisturize your skin regularly and use exfoliators or other methods to remove dead skin cells.
