We are sustainable
We try to source the ingredients of our products as locally as possible. In a global world, this is much more difficult than we initially thought. Instead of burying our heads in the sand, we looked for solutions. We follow the clean beauty approach and produce our products with predominantly natural ingredients.
Clean drinking water in Eritrea
Eritrea suffers greatly from droughts, floods, soil erosion and desertification and has one of the highest rates of malnutrition in Africa. Climate change is making this situation increasingly worse. In many rural communities, the fight for clean drinking water takes up a large part of family resources and places a particular burden on women and children. Long distances have to be covered every day to reach the nearest water source. However, the water from ponds or rivers is often contaminated with pathogens and dangerous germs and must be boiled before consumption.
How does climate protection work with drinking water?
Eritrea is symbolic of another two billion people in the world who, due to various influences, have no access to clean drinking water. Many families have no other option than to boil water using the simplest of methods on an open fire. This creates CO2 emissions and, depending on the region, ever larger areas are being deforested, which further aggravates the whole situation. These CO2 emissions can be saved by treating water chemically (for example with chlorine) or mechanically (with water filters), or by making groundwater from wells accessible.
